Alberta (Issued by: Alberta Registry Services / Alberta Transportation)

Class 7 – Learner’s

Alberta learner’s license for new drivers starting supervised driving. First step in the graduated licensing system.

Class 5-GDL – Graduated Driver License

Intermediate Alberta license for unsupervised driving with specific restrictions. Part of Alberta’s safe driving progression.

Class 5 – Full Driver’s License

Full, unrestricted Alberta driver’s license for personal vehicles. Recognized across Canada for full driving privileges.

Class 6 – Motorcycle

Class 4 – Taxis, Limousines, Ambulances

Quebec (Issued by: Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec - SAAQ)

Class 5 – Passenger vehicle

Standard Quebec driver’s license for cars and light trucks. Full driving privileges for personal vehicles across Quebec and Canada.

Class 6A/B/C – Motorcycle (Different Engine Sizes)

Motorcycle license categories for various engine sizes. 6A for unlimited engine size, 6B for mid-sized motorcycles, and 6C for smaller motorcycles and mopeds.

British Columbia (Issued by: Insurance Corporation of British Columbia - ICBC)

Class 7L / 7 – Learner / Novice License
